MEETING YOUR KIDS’ NEEDS

Most of the time, our kids’ reactions and behaviors are tied to a need they want met. But it’s not always easy to see that in the moment.

On this episode, I am joined by Andrea Pollack, a mom of two young adult children, a former lawyer in New York City, and an advocate for parents of autistic and other developmentally challenged children.

We dive into some tips on how to navigate raising children with special needs, but also talk about parenting tips for everyone on the “shoulds” we are faced with and why implementing parenting advice can be challenging.

ESSENTIAL MINUTE | VETIVER

Andrea gave us a lot of great tips that can be used on any kid, but since so much of her work centers around children with autism, I wanted to share with you an essential oil that can be another tool in your toolbox for parents who have autistic children.

Vetiver is a great oil for calming and can also help with concentration. A study was done by Dr. Terry Friedman to discover more of how this oil can help children with not just autism but adhd as well.

Dr. Friedman said, “Amazingly, these oils help children in enhancing their concentration levels that will directly benefit them with lesser distractions and reduced impatience levels.”

They also found that it can help soothe an overactive mind, aid in controlling anger, and reduces irritations.

This oil can be used topically, especially on the feet at night to promote a better night sleep. But you can also diffuse this oil! I love to mix it with Serenity at night time.

BONUS: If you want to add this to your toolbox, along with any other oils/products, you can get wholesale pricing just by using the link below AND a 1-year membership for FREE (with no ordering requirements).
